During the Dutch Defence Open Days the Defence organisation demonstrates its ongoing deployability for peace and security in the Netherlands and far beyond its borders.
The services of the armed forces will showcase various advanced weapon systems in large-scale displays, demonstrating how the armed forces use them.
The 2013 Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) Open Days or “Luchtmachtdagen” in Dutch will be held on the 14th and 15th of June 2013 at Volkel Air Base.
For many people, visitors and personnel alike, the Air Show is the highlight of the RNLAF Open Days. Pilots of fighter aircraft and helicopters from home and abroad go the extra mile in order to amaze the huge audiences with their aerobatic skills.
Man and machine: that is what the visitors can expect at the static display. There will be an extensive exhibition of aircraft, helicopters, guided missiles and various stands. The public is given a look at the past and future of the Air Force but the most important thing is to give them an impression of how the Air Force operates today and how it employs its personnel and materiel.
The 2013 Royal Netherlands Navy Open Days or “Marinedagen” in Dutch will be held from the 20th through the 23rd of June in Den Helder and will be combined with Sail Den Helder. 2013 celebrates 525 years of Navy in The Netherlands.
